Star Trek – Red Carpet Premiere

When actor Leonard Nimoy heard about the town of Vulcan, Alberta wanting to host the premiere of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek franchise reboot, he called Paramount Pictures and asked them to “make it so.”

C&C Communications was charged with making it happen. We coordinated extensively with Paramount, Vulcan Tourism, Cineplex Entertainment, various vendors and dozens of local and national media outlets to produce one of the biggest premieres the city of Calgary, Alberta had ever seen.

Special guest, actor Bruce Geenwood, who played Captain/Admiral Pike in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness, was flown in to walk the red carpet and hold a Q&A with the audience before the screening. Media outlets including CBC Television, eTalk Daily, Entertainment Tonight Canada and The National Post reported on the event nationwide and internationally, contributing to the films successful public relations campaign and ultimately, its record-breaking box office.

The stars of the night, though, were the residents of Vulcan, Alberta, who were bused into Calgary from their town a short distance away and walked the red carpet along with actor Greenwood. Autographs were signed, posters were distributed, and everyone in attendance had an amazing experience they would not soon forget.
