100th Anniversary Titanic Event

During the Titanic’s 100th anniversary, C&C Communications was asked by Paramount Pictures to create an exclusive turn-of-the-century maiden voyage themed night to celebrate and promote the 3D re-release of director James Cameron’s Oscar® winning film, Titanic. We pulled out all the stops and made it “a night to remember!”

Guests attended in their best 1912 attire for an evening of memorable entertainment. The Vancouver Academy of Music string quartet performed music from the movie, local artist David Gowman sketched portraits – referencing Leonardo DiCaprio’s character from the film – and of course Titanic 3D played on the big screen to a sold-out house.

The Vancouver Maritime Museum also gave away tickets to their special News of the Titanic exhibit, and two of Virgin Radio’s high profile morning hosts, Nat and Scooter, were on location with live cut-ins from the lobby telling their listeners about the upcoming re-release and the special anniversary screening, contributing invaluable publicity towards the film’s marketing campaign.

A red carpet photographer was also on hand taking keepsake photos for everyone, while complimentary concessions, gift bags and collectable premiere “boarding passes” were handed out to the enthusiastic crowd. Positive word of mouth ensued, helping make this grass roots event a huge success.
