Vogville Presents: The Matinée

To promote the launch of Jonathan Fluevog’s (Vogville Recording) new online documentary music series Vogville Presents, featuring Vancouver-based roots rock band The Matinée in its debut episode, C&C Communications worked with Novacurrent Creative Solutions to create a public relations campaign that would not only publicize the series, but also help The Matinée establish themselves in the marketplace.

Campaign highlights included a live television performance by The Matinée on Urban Rush, with print and online features in The Vancouver Sun, The Vancouver Province, 24 HRS, The Georgia Straight, The WestEnder, TV Week Online, BC Lifestyle, Vancouver Is Awesome, Crave Online, Cadence Canada, Beatroute Magazine, Youthink Magazine and Canada.com.

Following this successful media campaign, the Vogville Presents web series was subsequently developed as a television series and acquired for broadcast by Shaw TV and Novus TV in Vancouver. The Matinée completed a major music competition, The Peak Performance Project (being judged, in part, on the success of the PR campaign), where their Top 3 finish earned them a cash prize of $50,000 to put towards their musical career development. Soon after, they signed their first recording contract with Light Organ Records and released their first album, We Swore We’d See The Sunrise.
